I tried striping, and when I realized that it took me way too much time I decided that it wasn't worth it.

How do/did you normally cut grass? So, what was this, back and forth? Looks good, but just asking...

I normally just start on the outside and mow in a square and work my way in, I was bored and figured I'd try something new. I do agree that it took longer and definitely used more gas.

I must be a "fancy" mower then. I never mow in a square. I always pick a direction and mow the entire yard that direction. Even if it means backing up and going forward over and over to do a small area. I don't care how much gas it takes. It's just a lawn mower it doesn't burn that much gas. Even if it takes an extra gallon, wooptie doo. $2 of my money gone for a nice looking yard.

I may attempt the whole yard next time, this part of the yard only has two trees to work around but the rest of the yard is full of man made obstacles.

Yup, I am with J-Mech! I always mow diagonal to the house and switch it up week to week.

I just cut it in what ever pattern it turns out to be. My lawn doesn't lend it's self to fancy.
