Expanding our resources database
I was brainstorming last night after reading a thread about a starter generator repair, and what I might do if I needed one repaired. I know we have multiple threads on resources for our Cub Cadets, but how about this for a second...a database of locations of repair shops on a map with a search function. To expand a bit- a map of (The US? World?) where one could enter into a search box 'starter generator' or 'machinist' or 'tire shop' etc and narrow by zip code, address to an area where such services are offered. Make sense?
I don't know how feasible something like that for our site would be, how much interest it would draw, or how much would actually be able to be inputted into said map/database. I know if I needed a Starter/Generator repaired in my area I wouldn't know where to go, but if I had a map that I could narrow some search terms into I could find one better than using google or word of mouth. I wouldn't know where to go for an engine rebuild machinist locally either. I could detest that a good machinist for boring is Harts in Cecil Ohio, and that's something I could add to the map/database. Did I lose you along the way? Or can you envision what I'm thinking?

I like the idea but think it would be overly complicated to setup and have it work properly. I would think a sub section with individual states listed that people could add info to would be easier, then when people needed info they could click on their state and see a list of services providers that people have listed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
