Non-serviceable carbs?
Helping a family member trying to get an off-brand 4 wheeler running. Been sitting a while, appears the float/needle is stuck because it is constantly running fuel out the overflow tube while running (or even cranking over with the starter). Machine uses a vacuum style fuel pump. The overflow is over an inch above the bowl. Figured it would be pretty simple pull the bowl and unstick things---there are no heads on the screws. You can see where the threads go thru the main body. On the bowl side it looks like there was a round boss or something over the screw thread and it went inside a counterbore. The screw is MUCH smaller on this side. Looks like it was designed to twist the head off once it was torqued down. You can tell its 2 pieces because the screw is rusty and sticking up ever so slightly. Any way to get them out other than machining them out of there? He's going to look tonight to see if a kit or replacement carb is available. The only info, other than a # stamped into the main body is: KF standard of Japan.
Any helpful input on this would be appreciated.

With something like this you have nothing to lose if you mess it up. I can't see what you seeing.
You may be able to peck at the screw heads with an end mill until you can split the halves. Then find another fastener to replace them. Another thought... I have been successful at removing broken taps from aluminium with a solution of alum. It's not a quick procedure, but may be worth a try.

Thanks for the responses and ideas. I did an internet search and they are snap off screws--tamperproof. Guys are drilling them out use left hand screw extractors. Something to do with emissions regulations I suppose. Wonder how long before this stuff shows up on US made equipment?
He ordered a new carb, $28. Don't ask me how they sell it for that. I paid close to $60 for the electric/auto choke gizmo for a name brand machine a few years back.

I took a Dremel and cut a slot in my neighbors Chinese quad and used a flathead to get it out
