Default Passing of Member Myron Bounds

In Memory of Myron Bounds
Joaquin, Texas
Nov 24, 1937 - Apr 1, 2017

Funeral services honoring the life of SGM (Ret.) Myron Bounds, 79, will be at 10:30 AM Friday, April 7, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Logansport, LA with Reverend Timothy Roberson officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at NWLA Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church in Logansport, LA on April 6, 2017 from 6PM to 8PM for visitation.......

Myron was a member here on OCC. He contributed a number articles and information to our site. He was a wealth of information, a walking encyclopedia of IH/Cub Cadet information. He had a Literature Library of Cub Cadet material, second to none. I personally have talked with him numerous times. He was a great guy, that loved, honored and served his country. I am saddened by this announcement and surely will miss him.

RIP Mr. Bounds. I as well had the pleasure of chatting with Myron a couple times when the old IH Registry was still active. Very pleasant and knowledgeable man.

I'm sad to hear of his passing. I've never met or talked to him but he had a wealth of knowledge on our hobby. One thing that I'm sure of is that he will be missed on this site and the others. RIP Mr. Bounds.

Thanks Roland for posting this. I've seen many information links with him referenced on this site that I learned a lot from as well as him being the go to guy on the RER's. Yes sir, Rest In Peace.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
