Default One for the Farmall guys.

I usually do Fords which isn't everybody's cup of tea so heres one for the Farmall fans. The paint is tallmans ag paint which I've never sprayed before, I mixed it 8 parts paint to 1 part hardener and I eyeballed the reducer until I was happy with how it sprayed, as you can see in the last pic it went on pretty smooth out of a 1.4 tip gun. This company has cub yellow so this may be another affordable option for cub guys but since I never used it before I can't speak to how well it holds up.

Tim, why do you guys switch paint all the time? Customer request?

All the body guys I know shoot 1, 2 at the most brands.... and customer has no say.


Everything looks pretty still wet in a paint booth, lol. But it does look good! Nice to see red instead of the normal gray, or blue.... or orange. Ford used too many different colors, lol.

I'm not sure why you think we switch paint all the time, I use ppg on cars and the paint for the tractors is top secret. This tractor came to us half painted and this was the brand they used so we had to use it so the color would match, since you pointed out the paint is fresh I will post some pics tomorrow after it's dried so you can see if it's died back or done any weird stuff.

Nice! Question about the rims, what do you guys paint them with? We always used silver in a spray can, it was hard not to get dark streaks, almost black. Is that just the nature of silver paint?

When we do fords the wheels get done in base/clear but this one got aerosol silver since that's what the guy wanted, they came out looking ok with no streaks but to answer your question silver aerosol is a pain to get to look normal.

I wasn't criticizing the paint or the work....

I've heard you talk about PPG, Iron Guard and I thought DuPont products, then this time you used this brand. I was just curious.
