I use propane for the primary heat. Think I had it filled a couple times last year 150 gal. a fill and it still cost me $750-$900 for the winter....granted this is Texas. But we get a couple cold months, and I have an old house with poor insulation

Tim, I did not build it but whoever did, knew how to weld. All I did was sandblast the whole thing and gave it a few coats of red rustoleum, put a 16 gpm pump on it, new detent valve, hoses,k181 with electric start and new tires. weights around 2000 lbs.

The 800 gallons the tank holds will last us up to 3 years, we used to use more when we heated an office. I filled ours in August,,,,,, |

I have a 1000 gal tank, just haven't filled in all the way. Think it was $2.75 a gal. last winter. Should have filled it this summer, but I procrastinated.

Mr. Mike ,(mountainheritage) Thanks for the compliments. I built the barn myself in 1994,so,it only looks old. A "rick" is a stack of wood 4' high and 8' long by whatever length the wood happens to be. In my case 18".
Tonka,,nice pics. Daniel G. nice pics and nice cart!

Tim,
A rick is an American way of say a "cord" of wood! LOL Still liking that shed! This is similar to the style I'd like to build some day 153842856_270436bc5d.jpg This is what I have now, just a "pole shed", used tin on the roof, cost me just under $700.00 to build it. IF I stuff it full, no spaces between the rows, I can get just over 40 cord (RICK) in it. DSCN2323BB.jpg DSCN2325BB.jpg When this picture was taken, I had just thrown two wagon loads of wood in under cover to get it off the wagon. About a week later had one heck of a wind storm and you can see where all the snow ended up! I normally put tarps on the West and North side to keep the snow out of it. I have a little shed on the East side that has garden tools, extra 2x4's and a whack of kindling in it. Got a tri-axle load of cedar about 6 years ago, I am lucky if I have used a cord of it yet! I will have kindling when I am 85 years old from that load of wood, best of all, it was free! DSCN2315BB.jpg

Mr. Mike,,,Nice pictures. Down here we consider a "cord" of firewood to be
4' x 4' x8' which is 128 cubic feet of volume. I have been in your part of the country. I went fishing near a town called Wawa. Here's a pic,it was 1997.

I sold my Hardy wood burner last year. I switched to propane for my logs and use my heat pump as well. Just filled the propane tank for 1.799, which was a new customer price. Regular customer was 1.899. A fellow at work said he just paid 1.599. The 400 gallons in my 500 gallon tank will last 2 years.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
