Well, brought the old Kohler in the shop from the 120 today, to start disassembly. It "ran" super good, so only doing the bare minimum. Head gasket, and true the head.
Not much for oil leaks, so gaskets won't be an issue on this one. Clean, sand and paint... BUT, the muffler has seen better days. NLA! So...

Thanks a lot Jay. I don't know bout the muffler, it's plenty thin all the way through, except for the header pipe. I've got a couple ideas, but not sure if I'm capable of building it. May have to think on it awhile longer...

Hey Todd, just ran across this thread on the Case, Pretty cool old tractor. My son has an old Case that looks a lot like yours. I will have to ask him what model his is. He uses his to run a belly blade and a yard sprayer. It never fails to start but as you said Is kind of crude. Keep up the great work on it as it will not be something you see every day.

Just ran across this thread, great work Todd, can't wait to see it finished. Just picked up a 150 myself, which was the same one year (1966) production as yours, but with the hy-drive. Keep up the good work!
Clint

Update.
I sold the 120. A young man is getting into garden tractors, and bought it to get it back together, and finish the "facelift". I'm pretty happy for the young feller. He sent me pictures of his progress, and said he'd keep me up to date on what he's working on. Already has a few parts painted... When he gets it done, I'll post a finished picture. So for those waiting on my slacking, wait no more, it's out of my hands.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
