Nice looking truck.
Those 5.3 Vortecs are pretty serious motors. They can take a beating and still keep ticking. Had one with over 300k before the frame rotted

I like it too! Steel bed is what you want, not a weaker, over priced aluminum bed!
I got a line on a nice '14 f150, but its a extended cab. I'm not much for that in a work truck. They always want to sell you something. Congrats!! Going to need to see the 147 in the bed!

Yeah, a lot of different factors went into the decision I had to buy the one I got. The s10 is a standard cab (never ever again. No room for anything and if you have someone else with you it gets real small real quick.). I've been in the back of an extended F150 when I was about 16 and I was uncomfortable the whole time. Plus I had previewed a 11 or 12 extended cab when they were new and the driver's seat didn't go back far enough for me to drive. I knew quad/crew cab was the best way to go. The current GM models where the rear door opens conventionally on the 'double cabs' is next to useless. Ever since I opened one of those/tried to get in I refer to it as the useless cab. As far as the bed goes; my brother wanted to know why I didn't want a 8 foot bed. I don't haul things often but when I do the size I got (5.8') is going to work fine. My S10 had a 5' bed and I could get a whole week's worth of camping gear in there (covered with a tonneau cover) for my wife and I. The Silverado' bed is wider and taller, so I'm sure I'll be fine. As far as putting the 147 in the bed--I know it'll fit and the weight isn't an issue, but it sure would sit high off the ground. For now I'll go trailer. Thanks all for the encouraging words. I appreciate it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
