Default Newbie. Cub Cadet 60.

Hi there, tripped over and bought an International Cub Cadet 60. Love at first sight. Who could resist mud-caked yellow fiberglass? Looks like George Jetson's mower of choice. A few minor cracks in the body, of course needs battery and tires and seat, but motor's complete and isn't seized. ISO of love, compassion, and parts for the beastie. It has electric start, but the recoil starter is missing, for openers. That and a seat. Oh, and wheel bearings by the look of it.

Well, looks like this one has got the better of me. Motor turns freely, there is spark, cleaned out the carb (may not ave done a 100% job there), replaced fuel hoses, checked the tank- but I don't think that fuel is getting through the carb. Tried starter spray, and the plug is still bone dry.

Who would like to make me an offer on the little beastie, before I place it on ebay? I'm in Portland, Oregon......... Make me an offer!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
