Default Picture of the Month: January 2017

This months submission is sent to us by local member Robb Leppo aka amflyer frp, Westminster, Maryland. Robb wrote: "This is my sons cub 149 hard at work mowing his grass. This mid 70's cub carries a 48 inch deck with the same 14 horse engine that it came with. When not mowing the job duties are plowing or blowing snow and dragging our local baseball field. Paint is original and has not been restored, plans are to completely rebuild the engine this fall as it is starting to show signs of getting tired. This has been a great machine that keeps on going." Thanks for the submission Robb!!!

The snow pic makes this Southern boy's heart skip a beat! Exactly how do you get turned around on the first pass without burying that outfit?

Congrats on POTM.

I like the idea of POTM over POTW. I remember when I was doing POTW it was a PITA to get material to post. Well done Ryan.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
