Need tech advice
I have an LTX 1042 model number 13WX91AS010. A couple of months ago when I would engage the cutting blades it would take them approximately 30 seconds or so to get up to full rpm. The engine was at full throttle. I figured no big deal just needs a new belt. I put on a new belt and for a few mowings when I engaged the blades, within 3-5 seconds they were at full rpm. Now it may take a couple of minutes for them to reach full rpm. I have also noticed when lowering the mowing deck down to my desired cutting height ( 4th notch down) you can hear the blades slowing down and again it may take a couple of minutes to get back up to full rpm. I can also now hear the blades slowing down as I am mowing and go back to full rpm. Idle pulleys appear to be fine and are freely moving, drive pulley may be worn (?), mower deck too low in front (?), I keep 10-11 lbs in front tires and 10 in back; maybe not enough air pressure in front tires (?), or drive cable/spring wearing (?) (I would not think so if the blades are slowing then ramping back up)

My guess is the cable that engages the deck is not putting enough tension on the belt. Can you adjust it to tighten it more?

I do not think so but will check. I might be able to put a screw(not self-tapping) through the spring to stiffen it.
