Lisle quality control
Warning: This post show a perfectly good design tool badly assembled by a lazy employee...
I purchase another small engine valve spring compressor and this one apparently "skip" the quality control, the weld look like bird poop and I show you the best one! On the other side a piece of Mig welding wire is "jam" in the weld! No old timer under heavy "booze" drinking can do a shitty job like that so someone need to stop smoking weed!

No of course! But how much time you think the welder needs to make a nice weld with good penetration? A minute more? I paid a extra $5 for that minute! This is not up to our standard of production! If it was stamp India or Africa on that tool I understand but not USA and certainly not Canada, UK, Japan, Germany or Spain. Crappy weld don't hold for long.
There is another US company who made the same tool, this one look well done, I wish I found that one before buying the Lisle so for those interested check this one.

Agree 200% Sam! Even "drunk as a skunk" most of us can do better.
Here the picture of the other side, I remove the wire stock in the center of that weld.

Thanks for posting about this, the valve tool is the one item I don't have for working on these Kohler's and I always forget about it till I need one. The Cornwell guy was just here and this post was a good reminder, I ordered one and it will be here next week, I will be sure to post pics of the weld on the one I get when it arrives.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
