Hey Oak could you give me the measurements of the gaurd that is mounted onto the post that holds the bar spring? Mine is missing that guard and I'd love to make one

Shaner, are you talking about the piece with the Haban decal on it?

Yes, I'm not sure what that guard is called.

Todd:
Have you found a parts book or anything on that?

Also, I'm no stranger to sickle mowers, but could we see a pic with the rear guard/cover off? I want to see the driver. Does it use an eccentric/cam drive? Or a wobble box?

Guess with this kind of rare stuff, the "worth" is determined by the buyer.... but we all know that already.
But the inflation calculator makes for a great selling point to the other half

Sounds like a pretty good deal for Todd
$4000 is probably close to the price to manufacture it today.

I picked up an 1872 this summer with Sims cab, haban deck, 451 blower and a 440hd. All was the original equipment sold with the tractor.

Nice tractor! Original owner laid out some serious cash for that rig. Those 3 point Haban's are like unicorn's in my area.

Very nice Kwitzke! How about some close up pics of that thing. Steve is correct, that owner shelled out some cash when that was purchased.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
