Default 1110 control rod

Bought a 1110 model 136293100, it grinds when pulling back on the disengage knob. Looked underneath and the control rod is missing. Looked on line it is part #717-3101 but it is discontinued. Any ideas where I can buy a used one?

Thank you all for your time
Dave

Default Progress

First off, Thank you for moving this thread to where it should be. I'm sorry, sometimes people have to hold my hand.

Okay, since I have been unable to source the rod, I went to Lowes and bought all-thread, washers, nuts, and four weak compression springs and doubled the springs up.

Now I am able to disengage the dump valve but it is in reverse at all times, but it does move on its own. I do not have full travel with the forward reverse lever. The paddle that this rod connects to is limited on travel also. It travels maybe 1 1/2"

Any ideas?
Thanks

hmmm have to figure out this image thing

Ah Ha got it!

I think your confused about what your trying to fix....

First of all, the part number you listed doesn't exist. There is a 747-3101 control rod... But is is solid with no springs on it. The dump valve uses springs on either side like the rod you made in the picture.....

So, are you trying to replace the dump valve control rod? Or the control rod from the hand lever?????

You need to look this picture over. Give us reverence numbers you are needing please.

Thank you for the help sorry for the typo, you are correct it is 747-3101, but I did use the correct # when I was contacting sponsors but they just told me it was discontinued which I already knew.
On the pic you referenced, which is the same I was using, the unit is missing #14, #15, #22x2, and #16x2.
Is there not a spring on each side of the paddle that the rod connects to on the pump? Or should I just just bolt it fast to the paddle?

Thanks again,
Dave

Dave,

I should have those parts if you still need them. Let me know and I will look.

What would the cost be on those parts?

Am I wrong with the springs on each side of the paddle that is on the pump? That is what it looked like to me on the exploded view.

With what happened, I'm thinking I might have to take that pump off and investigate anyway. Maybe that is why the previous owner removed the missing parts??? Idk

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
