I think that's a safe bet. Decals on the sides of the fiberglass dash, one side faded off and the other side isn't. Tires are all the same tread (chains have since been added). In the OP's pics from 2012 the tractor is clearly missing a hood and upper grille/headlight bezel, and in these new pics we can see that someone had since cobbled together mounts for a 1X4 1X5 series hood.

Also looks like they removed the damaged fenders and replaced them with the fenders from probably the same 1X4 1X5 series tractor that the hood came from. Replaced the seat as well. Oh, and the hydro lift musta stopped working so someone tacked on that manual lift.

If I were you I'd remove the cobble job hood and bezel and search for a correct one, as well as the correct set of fenders. Get the hydro lift working again as well. parts tractors aren't too difficult to locate. With some work I think this could be a nice really unique tractor. Don't forget to replace the engine isolator mounts.

I decided to decode your serial tag too, you have a 1250 (0630) built in August 1977.

Thanks Cub Cadet 107, I appreciate everyone's advice. Unfortunately this one is on the bottom of the restore list. I got a 86, 76, 105, 125, 127, 147, 149 all ahead of it

That poor tractor has been through a lot in the last decade. Ironic that you found the same one, would be cool if the OP chimed in with who/when he sold it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
