A few days ago, I posted that I was in the process of converting a Cyclops over to 82 Series sheet metal. It's pretty straight forward if you want to use all 82 series components.
I decided to do it the hard way and combine the Cyclops tilt steering and hydraulic controls with 82 series components.
I have mocked up a modified Cyclops dash tower with a 82 series dash panel.
Here is a picture of the tower.
What do you think?
I know, my work area is a catastrophe!

Seems like a good trade off. I can put five Cubs where one car sat and there are no titles or license to fool with!

So that is a 82 series framework under a Cyclops plastic dash? Hmm The only thing I'm unsure about is if the Cyclops plastic will fit tight/uniform with the 82 series hood. Keep us posted!

Look at the top of the panel Ryan. He integrated a cyclops dash and an '82 dash cover. Now, he can set the '82 series hood against the cyclops dash tower and retain the cyclops dash set-up.

I didn't notice that, he did a really good job. Thanks for pointing that out

Sam, Thanks for the compliment....but hardly a genius! I've just been around cars, trucks and tractors for a long time. Seems that I have a knack to think outside the box and try to make modifications look OEM.
I was given the nickname OEM Tim for how I have tried for a factory look in many past projects.
This project is coming together and if it turns out as I hope, there might be several "hybrid" Cyclops on the horizon!

That looks good. Great idea with the dash tower modification. Was hard to see at first. Keep us posted. Thanks.

It was hard enough I still can't see what he did. Someone please explain.

I don't have but one 82 model and I haven't looked at it lately.

What Tim did was to cut the top off a Cyclops and merged it with the top of an 82 series If you look again you'll notice that the warning lights that sit at the top of the Cyclops dash are gone.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
