Default Vbulletin YouTube embed function.

It seems that support for Vbulletin to be able to embed youtube videos came around about 3 years ago. It would sure be cool to be able to have the fancy new tool bar that lets us post instantly playable youtube content in a thread vs. a redirected link and then being required to come back to the forum.

Just my thoughts.

The issue is a security issue.

We are gun shy considering we have had one successful hack and a couple more attempts,

No way. Was that before, after or around the same time I got banned for pointing out your forum's got security issues?

Roland, as a retired IT guy, I'll take security over convenience every time.

Bugs Mrs. Cubby a lot when I rant and rave about strong passwords, but......

You had nothing to do with it, (that I know of - LOL) and it was before you became a member.

Our Server People take good care of us and I want to keep it that way.

Haha I'm innocent, just venting. Embedding is a huge security issue and you're smart for not allowing it. But there's at least two significant well known issues in this version of the forum that no firewall can protect you from, because they're at the application level. One allows registration of users with usernames that contain special characters, which is a medium risk, and another issue is a well known and recent object injection issue, which is nuclear. Both can be fixed in about 5 minutes , but you will need a software developer. If your server people are also software developers, they can help. I'm not telling you this as criticism, I'm telling you this because this forum has been a huge resource for me in getting my 2 Cubs up and running and I'd hate to see it get destroyed over such trivial things.

I can understand erring on the side of caution (the youtube embled feature is supposed to only work for youtube, but you never know), in the same token, I agree that the software seems several versions behind on updates.

I certainty don't run the show and am happy to even be invited to attend the theater no matter the features we do/don't have!

Thanks anyhow!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
