Default Thanks for letting me in.

Picked up a used but great running 782D and a 782 Gas burner frame 3 decks and a 2166 with no engine for cheap. The D has a bent frame so going to swap out the frame from the 782 and do a complete sand blast and restore. Swap over all the D parts to the straight frame. Have a small Kubota Z482 diesel I'm going to put on the 2166. Should be a couple of fun projects.

Nice score!

I think you will find the Z482 too tall and difficult to mount into the frame on that tractor. Besides, at right at 10hp, your tractor will be basically worthless. Better of finding a better suited replacement.

I won't be mowing with it. just pulling some stuff around. So the HP won't matter as much as the torque. Mainly to see if I can get it to work till I can find something more appropriate for the engine to go in. I got the 782 and the 782D for 500 and a hundred for the 2166.

I have two other mowers I mow with and bag leaves with. the mower is a cub 1042 about 4 years old. The leaf bagging tractor is a 69 Case 444.

, great bunch here.
Congrats on the tractor score. Used, but not used up. The two 782's should make one good one combined...
Diggin the high wheel Just In Case. Sounds like you'll be set for all tasks.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
