got the 1512 power washed today. pulled all the tins and had at it. clean up pretty good.

i found the wires going to the water temp gauge were all melted so ill have to deal with that. looks like a new fan was installed recently, but they put roll pins back in the shaft instead of spiral pins. ill have to fix that. i also pulled the hub caps off and found some wheel weights. i've never seen any like these before. at first i though they were concrete but i discovered that there actually lead. they weigh in at 32lbs each.

Nice 1512 Ken. One of the rarer birds. Amazing those weights are 32 lbs and can bolt up the way they do. Any one have info on these? Thats neat that they are lead too.

They look like they were made from a set of old rims. They cut off all the doo dads.

made up a new driveshaft today. i used some 5/8'' cold rolled steel and just copied the original. also re-made all new fuel lines, cleaned out the tank, changed the engine oil and all the filters, changed the Hytran and filter.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
