One thing I have always hated about original tractors is how bad the front wheels always look compared to the rest, and you can't just paint the front wheels cause that looks stupid to. I say leave it alone but I would also try to find some original front wheels with a little less patina. Congrats on the new Cub.

I do like the patina look. I think it's interesting that the hood almost matches the yellow parts of the tractor. Thanks for the idea on the front wheels.

I say leave as Is. Patina one’s should be left alone for the most part.

Ugg upside down this one was an old one before I knew how to hold phone.

Mike,

WHat's up with the green dash pedestal on that one?

I like the hood decal also!

That thing is perfect just the way it is.... I love that tractor!

If you want a little less "patina" (rust) on the wheel, try lightly buffing with 0000 steel wool. Go slowly, you can't put age back on quickly.

I'd protect them afterwards with a coat of car wax so they don't flash rust after you've done this.

I think I bought that from Lew a few years ago as the one I had was hacked up pretty bad.

The decal was gone when I got it on both sides. We don’t have a rust problem in FL but I think the humidity and salt in the air does what’s pictured pretty quick.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
