The undercarriages on the Cub and the Craftsman look like the same tractor.

Just a bunch of marketing wank - it's all the same product made by the same company targeted at different markets. Same product in a different color at a different price point.

It'd be like a Ford vs Chevy debate where they were both made by the same company!

What I'd like to see is what they all look like after 3 mowing seasons although most people would rather throw it away and buy new every few years. (Oh, battery is dead; buy a new mower!)

Anyhow - end of my soapbox.

Yahoo has enough problems with there web site, they have no business doing evaluations on tractors that they know nothing about. How many of you guys would buy a tractor based on what Yahoo has to say?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
