Default Throttle Shaft Bushing Part Number for those that might need it.

I decided to remove the throttle shaft on my 128's carb and get it tightened up. I went to Ace Hardware who carries Hillman products and talked with the Hillman representative that works at that store. He told me they had the bushings but that they now carried them in Servalite brand name. Hillman bought out Servalite.

The bushing fits perfectly and you do not have to drill your carb body. It removed all looseness in the throttle shaft. Also adding that the butterfly screw size is: 3-48 x 7/32"
A 3-48 x 1/4" works fine.

The Servalite part number is: ST814-2

They were about .80/each
Size is 7/16"x1/4"x1/16"

Here is the bushing:

The first bushing in place to be seated:

I used two bushings and a 6mm socket to seat them. Very very easy to do.:

Hope this is of some help.

There is no old bushing. The carb body wears out after years of use around the throttle shaft causing it to wobble and become loose and normally making the engine surge or not run smooth. These fit right into the body with no modifications.

I was wondering of this info could be added to the tractor technical section?

Adding also that the butterfly screw size is: 3-48 x 7/32" A 1/4" works fine.

They won't work on the Carter "N" on an Original.

The dimensions for the "N" throttle shaft bushing are

OD ~.400"
ID ~ .215"
Thickness ~ .100"

I'll go see if I can find a standard thrust washer to fit this

Thank you for this detailed information. It'll help me get the throttle shaft fixed on my 123!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
