Tractor opinions. Yanmar
Looking maybe to grab this. It's green, so I think it's the US model. Price is right. Need 4x4 because it's sandy out here. Seriously thinking about going to get this tomorrow. Shop has water in it and I need to do some dirt work immediatly.

I just Googled Yanmar F16D and all the pics showed red machines. I know nothing about them sorry I'm not much help. Maybe J-Mech knows more.

It's a grey model. hmmm I read that occasionally have front diff problems. I could buy it and sell it at the end of the summer and hope to not break it, which I probably wouldn't, but you never know. Or buy a newer machine or refurbed mitsubishi for around 9k that is similar in size, but I don't want to finance a tractor. Not financing that would drain the bank, and I don't want to do that either.

Look carefully at the pictures!! That machine used to be red and someone painted it green. The hoses are green from overspray and the red clip marks around the sides of the engine compartment are a tell tale sign, as well. Not to mention the tag that says "Made in Japan", which might be better if it was a "Maiden from Japan"......That there is a foreign tractor that someone was ashamed of....

Sounds better to rent for a few days. Wait till the tractor I want comes along. I really want a hydro trans. Sometimes just need to talk to a few other people. Online friends are great.

Definitely supposed to be a red machine.
Yanmar's are pretty short supply in Illinois. Don't see many. I've worked on a few, but worked on a lot of Yanmar diesels. The motors are good, I can tell you that. I don't know what you have available to you out there. I'm a fan of New Holland myself. Kubota is pretty popular, but I'm just not a big fan of their tractors. Has nothing to do with their mechanics or durability, it has all to do with their operator station. Their controls are spread out all over the place. New Holland, all controls on the right side just where they should be. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
