Went picking
I went out to my buddy's cub graveyard tonight, it's been several months since I've been out there and he's bought alot of stuff since then. I went out looking for a plow and spring assist for on the 1050 but also found these two items and made a deal on them as well. First up is a shredder, it's rusty but solid and turns freely, I offered $25 and he accepted. Next up is a 1450 twin stick, doesn't look like much now but it will come with wheels and tires and all the missing parts except for the engine for $150. I will pick up the shredder when I go get the plow but it will be a bit before I pick up the 1450, can't drag to much home at once without getting in trouble.

Now wait a minute, the shredder is actually USEFUL, assuming you don't have woods behind the house to haul your shrubbery clippings to. How can you get in trouble for that?
Is that a steering wheel spinner I see on the Cadet? Never really mowed fast enough to need one of them.

That's hopefully the plan, I already have way to many projects but couldn't walk away from these. The mount for the shredder is so bent up I can't even tell if it's for a wide or narrow frame, either way it will fit a wf when I'm done. The 1450 will be the first ql I've owned so I'm looking forward to that project, I have a 20hp command I've been thinking about putting in my 1211 which would free up the mag 12 to go in the 1450.

The guy I buy from isn't known for his organizational skills, he's got close to 150 cubs and there everywhere out there. About two months ago he decided to clean the place up and organize all the tractor, he's still has a long way to go but it's getting better. I guess he's had the shredder for close to 10yrs but I never saw it because it was under a tree and covered with mower decks, had I known it was there I would have bought it much sooner. He's into pulling and sells to alot of pullers so cool attachments like that and hydro tractors like the 1450 twin stick don't really hold alot of value to him, lucky me.

You need to plan a Sunday drive down here, I'd be more than happy to take you out there, just make sure you bring cash.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
