Nothing like that here. I'd say 30 min is about all I've had to wait. The local elevator doesn't have a really large pit, but they do have a fairly large grain leg, so it empty's fast. The issues come in that the side rail for train cars is so close to the pit, that a semi can't drive through and around the bins when they are loading cars so it has to back out. So.... we have to keep the line off to the side so as not to block access to the pit so that the trucks can back out and turn around. The build spot was a great spot 40 years ago.... but it has just grown so big with no room for expansion that is getting tight. Then of coarse you have those guys who can't back a semi or truck for sh!* and takes forever. Sometimes to the point they will actually move a row of train cars just so the jack-wad can drive through..... If you can't back it, you shouldn't be allowed to drive it.

Our local elevator is similar, inasmuch as it was built just after the war with cement silos, we used tractors with side board wagons and small trucks mostly then.
As the farms grew and went to semi's,things took painfully long to dump. Up till 10 years ago, they still had the ability to take ear corn. This year they added 3 huge metal silos and a large quick dump pit. That along with the fact that corn & beans now have separate pits it goes really fast. I can dump 350 bushel with no wait, the semi's take just a bit longer but not much. Like most old skool elevators, they are on a cramped piece of land in town. How things change in 50-60 years. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
