Oil Pan Similarities
I am working with a relative on a repower of a different color. Are the sump style oil pans on a K301 and M10 similar/same or known to have minor differences? The chassis originally had a K301 in it and we are attempting to put an M10 in it. Its gonna be nothing but a blade tractor, no deck, so just needing something with a good heartbeat. The original engine mounting brackets do not seem to fit this M10 and I am attempting to narrow the issue down to either the oil pan or possibly the flywheel housing. Not trying to bore anyone with a bunch of non-Cadet info here; rather, just attempting to glean information. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Aaron

Just bolt the pan from the 301 on the Mag10. It fits.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
