Default Super Value

Here is the question. What model is the most valuable Super? I don't want to know The one you would pay the most for ( because it is your favorite ) but the one that is actually worth the most and why. I have owned and sold over 25 supers. The one that has brought the most money for me is the 2182. I originally thought the 982 would be the most valuable but I have bought and sold them for about the same as an 1872. Lets also compare apples to apples and obviously a tractor with a 3 pnt and or rear PTO are worth more. I think the most valuable is the 1772 only made for one year, more rare than other models and it's a diesel. Personally I would want the most money for my 1872, it has a 3pnt and is as close to showroom as I have seen for a super and it is all original. I am sure I will never sell it because nobody would pay what I would want.

I do not think you can generalize the price of a Super,,

You LOVE your 1872, I was happy when mine left,,,

I loved my 1872,,,

until Sam Mac started up the 2284 in his shed one day,,,

My allegiance changed,, that day, Dang ol' Sam Mac,,,

All the Supers are,,, well,,, SUPER!!

That's great but without knowing how much that was and what model it was and what went with it, it means nothing maybe you wanted $250 maybe you wanted $5000. two totally different senarios. Again my question is what model Super is most valuable given same options and condition. I also have got my asking price many times, but that was different for each tractor.

CAD I don't love my 1872 anymore than the others, but it would be the one I would want the most for given its condition. Again my question is what model given equal options and condition would be most valuable. I am not asking personal preferance, I know they are all differant. If my 1772 was in the same condition as my 1872 I would want more for the 1772.

I would think the diesel SGT's are at the top and then the 2182's but I would love to get a 1912 or 1914 some day.

IMHO I vote the 1772 as far as supers go, only made one year and has the D-640 Kubota, metal hood/ side panels and "big tractor looks". Obviously the other supers are great machines, just as capable or better, but I think the reasons above ( the reasons I looked for one for years) make it one of the more sought after supers.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
