Nothing fancy but it will work well and be strong.
A spear/ notched on top for the rope trip will make you a nice setup.

That is what I was planning on using for the hinges, it may have been done before in my shop (I'm a pipefitter/welder, so I use what is handy/free). I was thinking of notching the top of the bucket and putting a spring on the catch to keep it from dumping when I hit a bump. Such a simple concept that I completely overlooked while knee deep in the project. It goes well with my motto though. K.I.S.S. keep it simple stupid, I should put that on the shop wall above the fab table.

9 out of 10 times, you only realize how much simpler you can make something only AFTER you build the first one. BTDT time and again.

Yes sir! It's a fine line for me between over thinking the project and jumping in with both feet before making a sketch. Maybe the older I get, the better I'll be able to balance it?

Didn't have any front weight, so yea. But this will handle anything you can put in it. I wanted something that could dump higher off the ground than a trip bucket.

Your bucket looks nice, and if you don't mind scooping it off, it sure beats a wheel barrel.

Now that's a nice setup!

I've noticed with mine already that a bucket full of dirt makes the front end VERY light. I'm thinking there's going to be a weight rack made before long here.

I just put the material on my welding bench to make hinges and a trip for the bucket. I'm not sure how much is going to get done this weekend though, taking my son to the national tractor pulling championship tomorrow.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
