Bob, I don't know your abilities but a valve can be removed/installed with 2 big screwdrivers, a daub of grease,a small pencil magnet,and some patience.
But if you don't feel comfortable, I respect that.

George, back in the late 50's and 60's I was Drag Racing at the local tracks. I ran a Chevy with a 283 engine and I tore it completely down in the fall and rebuilt the engine for years. Never blew an engine while racing. Today at 80 years of age, I am a little hesitant on doing tedious things like removing a valve. I was wondering if the exhaust valve was sticking,would there be a miss in the engine or a pop in the muffler? Once the engine starts it runs fine. Thanks for your input and have a great day.
