Default 1812 Value

Looking for input on what I should ask for my 1812 with 46" High Vac Deck with bagger. I bought it new in 1989, 626 original hours, always stored inside my basement so in crazy good shape. Paint is all original on the tractor, deck has been repainted a couple of times. Link to pictures below.

Also have 54" blade with angle, wheel weights and chains I'm thinking I will offer separately. Same for Cat "O" 3 point hitch, any input on those items appreciated as well.

It's been a great tractor but want to move to a diesel so letting it go. Thinking I will do Craigslist and hope for a local CC kind of guy looking for a first rate used set up.

Thanks in advance for input.

That is an awesome survivor. You sure have took good care of it. I would not take a penney under 1500.00 for it. I would start it 2000.00, you can come down but not go up. Do you remeber what you paid for it new?

I was just going through my original paperwork this morning, $4800 with deck and bagger. My other implements came by way of used 1812 I had bought before I bought this one new.

Thanks for the input, that's what I was thinking as well. We'll see if I can actually part with it when the time comes, thinking I may keep it around for the grandson in a few years. Only concern with that is storage space but I can make it work, after all these years no way I could kick it to outside storage.

You can feel free to store it at my house, I wouldn't even charge a storage fee.

How well does the bagger work?

Bagger works really well just so the grass is dry, if wet it just clogs up everywhere but that's to be expected. The other trick is not letting it get too high, it will handle getting it into the bags but they fill up so quickly it requires a lot of stopping to dump, but that beats the alternative of massive grass left laying on the lawn. I'm only mowing a half acre so bagging has been practical for me, I read post where people are mowing 2 or 4 acres, don't think it would be practical in those situations.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
