Default No start for LT1050

I've tried several things when my machine wouldn't start at the beginning of summer even though it ran fine last year:
- Changed fuel lines, filter and cleaned carb after mistakenly putting old gas in the tank and attempting to start.
- It would start after many tries then run for 15-20 minutes then stall. It would start right away then only run for a few minutes each time.
- Put on new fuel pump, no change
- Checked coils by pulling each plug wire off separately, kept running each time and sounded the same.
- Last week I finally took off gas tank and emptied and thoroughly cleaned. Did find what appeared to be insect debris that was probably plugging tank outlet.
- Ran very well for a full afternoon cutting long grass before running out of gas twice and after that it only cranks but doesn't start.
- Pulled off fuel line from carb and cranked, fuel came out as expected.

Not sure what to try next.

Machine details:

Start the process over, but this time, start with cleaning the fuel tank, then flush the lines, then pull apart and clean the carb. Not rebuild it, just disassemble and clean it. Make sure you have a good fuel filter installed. If you do have a fuel filter, and it's always been on the machine, you might only need to change it and skip cleaning the carb..... but I'd probably do it anyway just to be sure that it's all clean. You can't just do one part of this process and not the other. You have to clean all fuel components. Likely what happened is dirt/debris in the tank got to the carb. Sounds to me like a simple case of crap in the fuel.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
