You can buy the TYVEC shopping bags at Walmart for $1.00 each. We are filling the bag with potting soil and placing our tomatoes in the bag. When the plant is large enough to hang, we place another bag upside down, cut a hole for the plant to stick to, and place a sponge over the stem to keep any dirt from coming out of the bottom. We then turn it upside down and remove the first bag. A lot cheaper than buying the kits. We will send pics as soon as the first one is ready.
magrigg;
and all!
I purchased 2 of the topsy turvy planters.
Well it's been all summer and time to blast the upside down planter.
I hope your tomatoes did better than my tomatoes did.
I got 8 tomatoes on one planter 2 med and 6 small ones.
The other 4 med tomatoes. For the lack in size and amount they did however have very good flavor..
But I will give them a thumbs down for a waste of time.
As the ones I planted in the garden had huge tomatoes and each plant had well over 2 dozen on each plant. They both came from the same flat of tomatoes.

We grew tomatoe plants upside down and only got 2 small tomatoes. My grandma got a topsy turny tomatoe plant and got a lot of tomatoes but they all had black spots on them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
