Potential GT2186 purchase

The 2086 was double the price and a bit further away. So I bought a 2518-44 with the snow blade. I'll have to see if all the parts are on the blade.

Just from the picture, The Only thing missing is the Lift rod that goes Back to the Mid Mount deck lift arms shown circled in red

For most tasks you would use a garden tractor for, the 2000 Series is adequate. No, they aren't built as stout as the IH-derived units, but for simplicity of design and low cost of ownership, they are tough to beat. The have a nice tight turning radius, have all the best mowing deck designs (same as the GT decks, basically), and are able to take rear implements such as a tiller, plow, etc. They came with all the best grades of engines from Briggs, Onan, and Kohler. They are easy to work on, parts are still readily available.

Differences/downsides between the 2000 Series and a Cyclops:

They are a little small for tall guys like me, I find that even with the seat fully slid back I'm still a bit too cramped for leg room. No tilt wheel. They did not offer hydraulic power steering or lift (unless you count the electronic power steering and lift on the XT3 models). They have an open style sector and pinion steering gear, which is less stout than the Ross gearbox used in the IH based Cubs. The frames are built well, but not quite as strong. They are, however a night and day difference over a 1000 Series.
