Nice looking 149! Most of the time the best CL add (Reed very very Lew Priced)are gone in few minutes here...
The last cub I pick a week ago, I found it on CL. I almost post the add here but I change my mind and made the 10hr trip to bring it home with me! I work 7 days a week so I got no spare time to play with and take pictures yet...I keep it secret for the moment. Cub fever? What's that? I own 5 now and I'm not done yet..

I heard, I heard!!!.....Sheesh just no account for taste! ....LOL...all kidding aside, that 149 looks very nice and, although it is not as pretty as a Quietline, it still is a very solid tractor.

And the fever continues! Dragged this one in today. Cub O serial in the 40 thou range. Got the correct K161 7 hp with it and an 8hp as well. Both motors need tear down and rebuild, but turn over with compression. The original owner was elderly and someone climbed the fence, unhooked the engine, took it and left the rest of the tractor behind. The tractor was given to the man I bought it from. He located a replacement engine but never moved forward with the project. I post a few more pictures when I get them downloaded.

Here's a few more pictures. Less than 20 miles from home and "just about" a Lew price.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a exploded view parts list? When looking on Parts Tree it isn't possible to use Original as a model type in the search.

Looks like a keeper, how is the frame to transmission connection?
cub cadet website list the original as Cub Cadet. Go there for the parts list.

There was no model number... Just use Cub Cadet as the brand and the model number. If you go to most any cub cadet parts site select Garden Tractor.. then a list of model numbers will come up.. go all the way to the bottom of the list.. you will see a selection simply listed as Cub Cadet.. select that one and you will be in business!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
