Default More Cub fever

You know you have Cub fever real bad when you post a Craig's List ad you spotted here on the forum for everyone to see, then decide to go look at it because it's close by and a beautiful sunny day. After taking one look you buy it! Now you have to notify the moderators to take the posting down because the tractor has been sold! Sheesh! Anyway, here is the newest addition. 149 Cub, very clean 50C deck, four new tires, new battery, new carb, and a rebuilt PTO. Everything works and it came with an Agri-Fab yard trailer. Paint on the tractor has been touched up with a brush, but no rust anywhere. The K321 Kohler runs smoothly without smoke or bad noises and the hydrostat does everything it's supposed to. Did I need another 149? No, but that's Cub fever!

Congrats on the new toy. Some decent paint and a proper decal set will have it looking spiffy in no time.

Congrats on the new addition to the herd!

Funny how that happens isn't it!

Nice looking 149. Doesn't look like there is much to do except use it!

I think I did ok on price. Probably not the deal of the century, but with all the new stuff on it, I'm happy. The 50" deck is the cleanest I've ever seen. No Rot and only one small area of welded repair where a wheel mount is attached. New blades and good quiet spindles too. The only thing missing is the tailgate panel for the Agri-Fab trailer, and that's a simple build.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
