This thing probably lost 30 lbs today, 15 when I took off the rear lift and angle drive... and another 15 when I washed all the crud off.

Are those stick on house numbers for the decal?

Oh ya. Not only is the box upside down but the tin cover that should be on top is missing. Few cracks in the sides and a couple bolts are missing so theres a bit of work to be done on there. Theres a couple cracks near the bolts at the bottom of the dash tower also.
And yes those are stick on numbers, but the engine does have a Kohler 14hp sticker

Thx Gilles for the adjuster pics
Ive had this 1450 out mowing but theres still some work to do on it. The deck is pretty rough so Ive got another one lined up and side panels are coming via usps, muffler box still needs to come off for welding. Its progressing at least

You could have imagined folk's surprise and astonishment when the Quiet Line garden tractor debut way back in 1975, with it's "enclosed" engine compartment! The engineers at IH claimed the side panels help keep the engine cool. Of course there were many upgrades including a much better flywheel for cooling. The Quiet Line is my favorite!
Cleaned up good!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
