125 Temporary Gas Tank Fix
Hi, I've known that I had a leaky gas tank, so I put on a "different" tank. The tank is off a Techumseh small engine than needs a rebuilt or new carb. You might see the old tank has some missing paint where it was previously fixed with bondo. Have a look...

Looks like you can use a 10 hp tank straps and mount and it would look and fit betterer.

My 72 with a K301 ran a tecumseh tank like that for a couple decades, my father borrowed the original kohler tank to power an old Ford Model AA truck that was working as a woods truck.

The tank is working great. The best part is having the cap to one side to fill it.

Yeah.......it's pain in the ass with the gas cap in the middle of the tank. Especially when it come to refueling the tractor with a full and heavy jug of gas spilling all over the place until you get the sprout in the hole. Nowadays, I just have the jug filled 3/4 way up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
