That front bumper looks like it's very bad for shins.

A 86 series IH.

I'm proud of the job I did on it and I'm still glad I've got it. I got the parts from C. Burkholder in Onsted MI. (may he and his wife rest in peace.)
Very nice Daniel. The first time and the second round. That's a great keep sake.

Seeing Daniel's pedal tractor gave me an awesome idea. I went on eBay and I can get a brand new international 766 pedal tractor for about $225 shipped, I don't think it would be hard at all to turn it into a 1x8/9 series tractor. I think I know what my boys are getting for Christmas next year or sooner because now I want it to, it would look awesome sitting next to the other tractors at a show.

I think they actually sold some metal Cub Cadet pedal tractors, probably stuff made in the 70's or 80's.

Yea but they don't really look like a cub and to find one is hard and there very expensive when you do, I think the 766 painted like a cub would look much better.

I can still remember being 4,5 dad got me a ertl IH 1466 and a wagon. Then about 1980 getting a ertl 1086, 1586 with duals, a plow and disc. Then next year an ertl 886 and 5088 and a axial flow combine. One year for my birthday I got a ertl IH 2+2. Also in 81 dad bought a new 886 he bought me a 66 series pedal tractor. All of which I still have. The 1/16 1466 I restored the pedal tractor is on my list to do too.

Did you have problems with the plow bottoms breaking off? I also had a disc harrow with 4 wings, 3 of which broke off. Something about carpet and plastic tillage tools didn't mix! I may have the same 1586. All I know is it has a white cab and duals and a bowed out front end from being played with so much. I kept most of my farm toys inside. My Tonka construction equipment lived outdoors--there is an IH backhoe in that collection.

The disc didn't fare as well as the plow. I broke the gangs off it. The plow was ok, well till the dog chewed on the shares! It was a little modified! Lol I played outside in the dirt with them. They worked like the real thing! My tonkas didn't survive had a dozer, dump truck, wreaker and fire truck. Oh I have an IH 815 combine forget about that and a IH grinder mixer. I have a bunch of ertl stuff.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
