It's an older 48" from a narrow frame without the belt covers. I believe it came off of a 125 if I remember correctly. The original 44A was in need of some repairs during the time this picture was taken.. The 44A has since been rebuilt and is back on duty. This tractor has somewhere in the neighborhood of 2500 - 3000 hrs on the clock.. I used it hard during the 1980's. I had about 10 yards in the neighborhood that I kept in addition to moms.. Dad also gardened heavily with it. We had about a 5 acre garden and all the neighbors used it. The engine was built once In the late 1980's. Other than the deck rebuild and one paintjob it hasn't needed much else. It has been an unbelievable machine over the years.

My Mini 66 series is my dedicated mowing machine. What's the point of spending all the time to fix them up just to let them sit and collect dust? It's getting put on snow plowing duty this winter.

That's an awesome looking machine! I agree... why fix them all up and never use them? My grandfather always said, "If its gonna stay around here its gotta earn its keep!" Thanks for sharing!

Nice looking machines Oak!
I'm not familiar with anything past the Cyclops models... are those clear areas in the rear taillights backup lights on the first tractor?

Since I did a quick restore on this one it has not cut 1 blade of grass and I don't plan on getting it dirty. Like me it's old and retired.

Nice looking machines guys.
Adam, I love the red 129. I might have to do one of those someday. Yes, those are back up lights on my 3205....of course Cub value engineered those out and the complete rear tail lights out around 2000 or 2001.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
