We had an ice storm here in the 90's. We didn't have power for like a week. We had a big PTO generator (mine now, lol) that we used on the farm. Had to hook it up to the house, but in the morning when we went out to feed hogs (we had like 1500 head) we had to take the tractor and gen set down to the barns to grind feed, then disconnect, and take it back up to the house. E.V.E.R.Y.D.A.Y for a week. (Power was two different meter loops.) It SUCKED. Nice thing was, the gen set is huge, so it was like the power was still on. I could run the welder in the shop, while grandma ran pretty much anything she wanted in the house. |

It was dang near 80 for a week, 2-3 weeks ago. Now forecasters are calling for a trace to 2" of snow tomorrow? That's OK, mybe it will slow things down--grass needs cutting AGAIN.

Well I almost made it through the winter without plowing, almost. Just enough to be a PITA and it was wet enough that it would have frozen solid tonight. And it was in the 80's a couple weeks ago.

He makes me laugh. Could have easily moved much further south and never seen or worried about another flake. I don’t think he’s ever said why he picked cold and snowy Virginia, maybe lost a bet or something.

Sam is actually in the "hills" of Virginia. Ever see the TV show Moonshiners, its filmed in that area. So Sam, how much more HP do you get running straight ethanol in a cyclops?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
