Meg Mo Blade System
I'll be mowing here in NE PA in another week or two and my 147 needs new blades. I have the 48" deck. I've been interested in the Meg Mo blades for quite some time but it's a big investment as far as blades are concerned and I'd like to find out if anyone here has put them on their narrow frame deck. In all the reading I've done it seems that some decks do really well with them and some don't. So are there any Meg Mo owners out there and if so what are your thoughts or experiences with them?

Have you done a search of the forum yet? There are a few threads with mower blades as the main focus, some of which Meg-Mo blades were discussed.
Solely from a personal stance, if I can't find Gator mulching blades (or equivalent) for my 42" cast nose/stamped end deck, I'll get the Meg-Mo blades. The reviews from the gents here and on some other forums suggest trying them is worth the gamble.

Yeah I've searched and outside of what Sam Mac has said about his experience I've seen a few people who said they were going to buy them and never spoke about their experiences. I'm curious as to how they like them now that they've had them a year or two or more.

Thanks Sam Mac. I have seen some of those threads before. I guess I'm going to take the plunge. The price definitely makes you pause however when I priced new blades from Cub Cadet the difference in price will be made up by the fuel I won't have to buy because I won't have to spend time pulling the sweeper around.

Sent the Meg-Mo folks an email today asking if they had anything that would fit my deck. Turns out they don't have anything for the 11" blades.

Yep had the same issue with my 38" deck, I doubled the blades on it. Seemed to help.

Well I took the plunge and ordered the Meg-Mo's. I'll have to put a review up when they come in. Hopefully they work as advertised. Thanks guys for your help.

Are you sure they will fit your deck? Reason I ask is that they didn't make anything to fit that 38" triangle style that I had.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
