Category 0 Implement Week X3
Kind of a busy week for finding implements. Was surfing CL and saw a Cat O disk and cultivator for sale. Sky high prices! Called and he was firm on price. Now they had been listed for a month or so, so I told him I'd like to come and take a look. Usually standing there in person and waving a few Benjamins will do the trick (or get ya thrown off their property ). Long story short, I got 'em bought for way less than asking price. Also had been finishing up a deal for a Cat 0 plow as well. The plow came from a fellow forum member. Nice plow and we were both happy with the deal. Thanks again Brent! So the Cat 0 fleet has grown some. Wasn't really looking for the disc or cultivator. Quick question for the Brinly gurus. The disc and cultivator both came with top links and they are painted white. Did Brinly sell these with toplinks? Or did someone just throw these on? Nuff rambling, on to pics.......

Thanks Allen. Got up to 74* today. Maybe I can actually put them to use since the snow is finally gone. But alas, they are calling for snow flurries Sunday night.

Nice find Josh! I passed on a set of disc's a few years back and now I wish I didn't. That is a pretty wild looking coulter on that plow too. Whats the plans, blasting n paint or sink them in the dirt?

Nice scores Josh! I don't think the Brinly stuff came with a top link, but I may be wrong. AFAIK there is no parts look up on the net for the older equipment..... But I do know JD has a look-up for the older plows. May be able to find a parts list on the JD parts look-up pages. I played around with that set of tandems I have. If the angle is adjustable on the Cat 0 disk you should be able to make it work pretty good.
Todd, I thought you had a disk and sold it? Or am I thinking of Randy? |

Todd,
The PO had the notched coulter on it. Prolly leave it on for now. The plow's paint is pretty decent and just needed cleaned up. The moldboard has some surface rust, but should shine up nicely. On the disc and cultivator, I will drop them in the dirt, then clean and paint 'em later this year. Jonathon, I'll try to get some better pics of the toplinks. I have heard about the JD lookup. Noticed someone talking about at Weekend Freedom Machines. I will do some more searching on the old interweb.

Brinly cat0 parts
I have found parts for the Brinly cat0 12" moldboard plow, tandem disk, and cultivator on JdParts. I am the guy who posted the info on Weekend Freedom Machines. It would seem that Brinly makes all it's cat0 attachments available only through Deere and must have a marketing agreement also for parts. Some sleeve hitch and cat0 implements use the same parts. So those Brinly sells, but cat0 only parts don't show up on the Brinly website. The green painted Brinly cat0 implement parts listing can be found under the x495 parts listing.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
