Never heard of rust converter. Might have to give it a try.

FWIW - lots of folks try to mow only when the grass is dry or clean out under their decks regularly or both, but as great of a goal as that is, for me it's impractical. Lots of demand on time, family, work and sometimes you just have to mow when the conditions aren't just right - I think of summer evenings when you try to get home from work to mow the grass, only to find a thunder storm has passed through - again!

I've started finding spare decks and shells. I clean and repaint the underside of my decks every year. Usually use slip plate type coating, but it's a given that my decks are likely going to rust out some day, so spares are what I'm doing.

i use ace hardware rust stop paint.......so far it's holding up.

Sam's right, it looks black! Haha I wasn't certain the aerosol stuff was the same since I never used it, but it looks correct. What color was it out of the can? The stuff I had was milky white but dried black after the reaction.

Your summer homework assignment is to let us know how it holds up come the fall. And grease everything wether it needs it or not!

Yes I took the blades off but reinstalled them, didnt you see the pic of them installed? Bill, I will let you know how it holds up, it was black out of the can to begin with.

Looks good nick! I do the same with my decks but I also brush on about 3 heavy coats of Rust Oleum and 3 coats of Slip Plate but I let it dry a day between coats. If it ever quits snowing on you guys up north maybe the grass will start growing.
