All the parts seem like they are serviceable.

I don't know what a "grease bolt" is. There is a grease fitting.... and a nut. But not a "grease bolt". I see a lot of greasy parts.......
Maybe one of the bearings is in upside down. Tapers should face each other.... |

sorry for misnaming the part, I'm new to Cub Cadets and this mower is new to me. The part looked to be one piece, thanks for the info.

It's fixed!
The grease seal was not flush with the deck. Easy for someone that's done this before, but all of this is new territory for me. Now I know. thanks for the help and patience.

Hope you cleaned all those parts before you put it back together. Bearings don't like dirt. Did you replace the seals?

Thank you for your help.
Without members like you helping those who haven't done this before, we wouldn't have this online community, or any others. I realize that new people ask some dumb questions and are slow learners, but its how we learn and are able to keep this old stuff going. I know on other IH forums I'm on, it's easy to spot a new guy/girl, but it's even easier to welcome them and try to help. This won't be my last dumb question, but I promise to try to help a new person someday if I can eventually get a feel for these things.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
