Default New to me 1811

Well on Saturday after 12 and 1/2 hour round trip and 533 total miles my 125 has a new home. Drove to Kentucky and back for this 1811. The 18 horse magnum purrs like a kitten. The 44” deck is quite also. Just curious what the pros and cons are for the 1811? Thank you.
Picture to prove it happened.

All I can say is my 1811 is one of the best handling mowing machines I have ever used. I think you are going to be well pleased. If MTD would resurrect the 1811 and offer the 50C deck for it, I imagine it would sell quite a few machines, despite being rather pricey.

So, did you just set the OCC record as to how far you would drive to get a Cadet?

I might have set the record as far as distance. Would be interested in finding out if I did. Lol. Both parties are happy with the machines involved in the trade. The P.O. of this machine wanted a tractor for plowing snow. Had a gentleman offer him a 147 but he backed off just as quick as he showed interest. I’m very happy though and yes the beer holder is a plus.

Try it you'll like it. The only downside is the lack of lift for the deck. edit: Lift meaning height.

1811's are equipped with a hydraulic lift.

1811 is a great all around tractor. Congrats.
I had one, but mine was in need of many things. If you're looking for a read, here's the thread.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
