Got another red one!
Once in a great while I get lucky. I found this on Ebay and won the bid at $431.56 This one's an IH made 782 that has the M18 engine, rear axle/hydro assembly and driveshaft from an 1811 installed. PO said the KT17 gave up and he found a 1811 as a donor. Unfortunately he kept the 782's cast IH rear and the dual hydraulics for one of his other cubs. Oh well. Original paint, starts and runs great, and hydro works smooth. It came with a 44" deck and mule drive, a Parker sweeper, and a dump cart. PO says the cart is supposedly an IH that the wheels were stolen from, so they are replacements. There is white paint under the brown primer. Can anyone identify the cart? It was a 450 mile round trip but I happy with it. OH, and yeah one rear tire on backwards.

Nice Find!! Congrats on another new toy!!
Not sure on the cart... but don't think it's IH? The body, tongue and latch look just like my late 80's Gravely trailer.. but my wheels are under the body and the trailer sits much higher? Always nice to drag another red one home... especially an IH built unit!

I tried the sweeper Lew. It's got a new set of brushes on it but the PO burned out the Sprague clutch rollers in the left drive tire by having the brushes set too low, so now they don't turn with any force. I just ordered the drive pinions, Sprague rollers and springs along with a set of drive tires from a place called M and D. They carry parts for all the Parker made sweepers. It's a nice unit and with the new parts it should be right on. Hopefully I'll get it together before snow flies, I've got a ton of leaves in the yard!

Congrats Stan!
Wonder what the deal is with one backwards rear tire.... that is like the 2nd or 3rd in a row tractor in that last couple weeks someone on here brought home with a tire on backwards! I like the sweeper too. I picked up a Parker made Cub Cadet sweeper a few weeks back. Is this the place you got the parts from? I need some parts for mine.... https://www.m-and-d.com/Parker-Sweeper-Parts.html Not an IH cart. |

That's the place Jon. Their web site is pretty decent to use. Payment by card of course or by PayPal.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
