If the pics of the dash can be trusted, it shows a hole for the oil pressure light which his 782 wouldn't have.

Just put your finger over it and it will be fine.

I agree. i could live with it but wanted to point it out so the OP didn't buy it and find out when it arrived.

Glad you got your dream tractor! Congrats
Hah. Guy said he had 8 folks lined up behind me, some offering more than I paid. Stand up guy that he is, said he'd give me first crack at it as long as I got there on Monday, at the price he was asking, especially since I said "that's a more than fair price, and there's no reason to negotiate down on that at all" right off the bat. (I'm not a very good negotiator )

Thanks for this! I'm going to try and find the right one, but we'll see how long I can live with it like that. It's nice to know there's an option. Will keep my eyes on the sponsors sites!

That dash plastic is pretty popular and used on quite a few models, with the only difference being the number of holes drilled for gauges and indicator lights as mentioned. It's common for them to break out right where the mounting screws pass thru the plastic. Look closely at any used dash you might find and make sure that the hole is smaller than the head of the screw that lives there.

Hmmm....makes me wonder on the 782. I saw it about 3 months ago. Had a bad engine or I probably would have scooped it up. Can't recall the steering wheel center cap, I think it was the plain one. I was just excited when I saw how it was built and the real low serial #.

If it was a repaint, it would have had a high IH serial number.

Although technically, it could be a low CCC number and be a repaint. But I'm not sure why they would do that as CCC offered both colors.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
