I remember getting pulled over by the police when I was 8 driving the 70 down our street.
My friends dad was behind the wheel and my friend was operating the siren!.
No ticket because I let him take the cub for a ride.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! My granddaughter is fond of my 70. I take her to the shop to pick one out to drive and the 70 always gets picked. My dad is gone but he would be smiling. He loved cub cadets. I have asked her about a pink one and she says no "only red". Her mom's brother-in-law works at the JD dealer. She took my granddaughter with her to talk to him. He asked her if she wanted to sit in one of the tractors. She asked him "where are the Red ones?".

That's funny!! She already has it figured out!! No Green and yellow around here!!

Your red and white 70 is very sharp!! I've always wondered how IH came up with the yellow and white scheme.. IH has always been red... Somebody refresh my memory.. Why did they wait till the 82 series to paint them red??

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
