Default 1450 drive shaft flange

Hello all! It’s been a while.

I noticed my front flex disc was tearing and the drive wasn’t spinning true.
I bought a new disc.
I pulled it apart, and the flange is in 2 pieces.
Is that a destroyed bearing? Or can I pound that ring back in there and use it as is?
Also, can I reuse that roll or spiral pin?
I attached some pictures.
I was able to get the shaft out by disconnecting the 2 rear flex discs.
It was difficult to get out. Thanks in advance!

Mike

You should get a new correct part, 941-3004 it is called a ball bushing.
Remove the old and install the new one. New spirol pin also.
Looks like dis.

Thanks for the quick reply Darkminion.
That part will fit into my existing flange?
There is some wear on that part also.
Should I buy a new flange assembly?
Part# 903-0204?
I think it is actually cheaper.

Looks like the bushing race is still in the flange?
If so, the flange is OK.
Press the race out, the new part will take its place.
It your flex discs look deformed and are stiff as board, replace them as well, use 2 or them.

Well, the old Triangle flange looks much too worn out, and I would just replace the flange. If looked at closely, the old flange is wallowed out, resulting in the race and bushing dropping out.

Ok. Might be repairable. Truth is, the repair is not common knowledge on the board, here. Just don't see much of repair documented.

Hopefully, the end of the driveline is still useable. Better piece of mind to also replace any coil pins too!

Ok thanks Funsruskw.
I don’t have a press.
Can it be done without it?

Does anyone know the part number of those pins?

Thanks again!

Couldn't tell from the pic if the race was still there or not.
don't really need a press, Just use a vise and a couple sockets.
one big enough ID to press bearing race into and one small enough OD to fit the race/bearing on the way in.
May take a 3rd hand to hold parts though.
If the damage is into the flange proper, best to replace it as well.

Good luck!

The FLANGE ASSY-DRIVE SHAFT is $22 and change through CC, why mess around with the old flange? Fix it once right, and be done with it...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
