Default Cub169 hydrostatic drive shaft repair at motor

New cub owner! Ha ha ha
Runs fantastic but doesn't move, the pto shaft is not connect to engine ( coupler?),, I would appreciate any advice out there. Might sell it?? Might keep it??

Looking for insight on repairing the pto shaft connection at the engine.

Sounds like sheared pin at the coupler and don’t get rid of it! That tractor is second rarest production model made.

Move engine forward and repair. Member Jeff in pa on this forum makes gnurled pins for some why wallered put pin holes or will make new drive shaft with new pin. Do a search here, many threads on here about it and good luck

Probably as simple as a sheared spirol pin in the coupler at the rear or a sheared drive pin at the engine coupler.

On the back of the engine is a drive hub. There is a slot where the drive pin ( press fit in the drive shaft ) provided the transfer of power to the rear. On the rear is a coupler with a spirol pin. ( a spirol pin is multiple layers of sheetmetal formed to a round shape. single piece rolled )

If any of those parts are defective, I can made them for you

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
